About Hey Langley
A community hub for Langley, BC, written by a neighbour who got tired of scrolling five Facebook groups to find out what's going on.
Hey Langley is one person’s attempt to make the website Langley should already have: one place for what’s on this weekend, honest reviews of places worth your time, what council actually decided, and the small stuff that makes a town feel like a town. Haunted house maps included.
Who’s behind it
A Langley local. That’s deliberately all you’ll get. This site isn’t a personal brand and it isn’t a business; nobody here is building a following or selling anything. Keeping it anonymous means reviews can’t be bought, invitations can’t be accepted, and nobody gets treated differently when we walk in.
Two dogs supervise. They don’t write the reviews.
What we cover
- This weekend. Markets, family events, games, live music, community meetings. Every listing links to the organiser’s own page.
- Reviews. Restaurants, patios, parks, trails, things to do. Scored out of ten with a one-line verdict. Only places we’d send a friend to make the cut; if we didn’t like it, it just isn’t here.
- Explained. Council decisions, development applications, ALR changes, road projects, with the source documents linked. No spin, both sides where there are sides.
- Rants. Clearly labelled opinion, kept to the lighter side of life in Langley.
- The directory. Community centres, libraries, pools, parks, how to reach your elected officials, local groups, and a bit of history. Checked, dated, and corrected when you tell us.
How we pay for it
Out of pocket. No ads, no sponsors, no affiliate links, no free meals. Read the pledge.
Mistakes
We’ll make some. When we do, tell us and we fix the page and note the correction. Facts get sources; if we can’t source it, we don’t publish it.
