The Township of Langley is the large municipality that wraps around the City of Langley. It has a mayor and eight councillors, and its voters chose a new council in October 2026. If you’re not sure which Langley you live in, our City vs. Township page can help.

Elected in 2026

We built this list from local news reports of the election, since the Township’s own council page still showed the outgoing council when we checked. Treat it as the elected line-up, and check the Township’s page once the new council has been sworn in.

Mayor: Jay Lundgren (Langley Strong)

Councillors (eight seats), as reported by the Langley Advance Times:

  • Langley Strong slate: Margaret Kunst, Barb Martens, Blair Whitmarsh, Kim Richter, Teresa Townsley and Lauren Chalus
  • Progress For Langley slate: Steve Ferguson and Michael Pratt

The Aldergrove Star’s election-night story described the count as preliminary, and its list of councillors differed slightly from the Advance Times, so please confirm against the Township’s official results page when it’s posted. The Advance Times says the new council’s inaugural meeting is on Monday, November 2, and the Township’s council calendar lists an Inaugural Council Meeting from 7:00 to 10:00 pm in the Fraser River Presentation Theatre.

School trustees are elected on the same ballot. We’ll cover them on a separate school board page once the results are confirmed.

How to reach council

The Township’s Mayor and Council page gives these official routes:

  • Email the whole council: mayorcouncil@tol.ca
  • General phone: 604-534-3211
  • Mail: Civic Facility, 20338 - 65 Avenue, Langley BC V2Y 3J1
  • An “Ask a Question” form on the Township’s contact page

For individual councillors, use the Township’s own page once it is updated, because it’s the only place official addresses are published.

Watching council

The Township’s Mayor and Council page links to live council streaming, and the council calendar lists meetings, agendas, minutes and video. See how to attend or speak at a Langley council meeting for the details, including how to sign up as a delegation.
